Public Relations (03\/10\/2024) | To improve the quality of legal understanding, FH UNAIR held a Colloquium & Postgraduate Workshop with the theme \u201cBusiness and Human Rights in the Asia Pacific\u201d. The Colloquium, which was held on October 1-2, 2024, was in collaboration with Atma Jaya University<\/a> and Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat (FAU)<\/a> Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany. This series of events began with an opening discussion session by Prof. Markus Krajewski<\/a> from FAU and Indriaswati Dyah Saptaningrum<\/a>, Ph.D from Atma Jaya University. and closed with a question and answer session by the participants. Furthermore, the event was held in each chamber, by presenting research papers from participants, where the chambers were divided into \u201cGlobal Chain & Digitalization\u201d and \u201cClimate Change & Sustainability\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erlisa Akhlakul Karimah, S.H., M.Kn<\/a>, in her speech said that this colloquium can be a valuable experience. The main goal is to explore the meeting point between business and human rights and become a way to create a positive impact through responsible practices. \u201cIncreasingly complex global challenges, make the academic side study more deeply to solve existing problems, especially in the Asia Pacific region. Through this activity, it is hoped that it can produce extraordinary thoughts to determine the next steps towards a more just and sustainable world development,\u201d said Erlisa. Not to forget, Iman Prihandono, Ph.D<\/a> as the dean of FH UNAIR warmly welcomed the speakers and participants who attended the series of colloquiums. The enthusiasm of the participants, became a spirit in itself to be able to provide results that can provide changes in the fields of business and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis colloquium and workshop show evidence of FH UNAIR\u2019s commitment to contribute to providing results in responding to various legal problems in the fields of business and human rights, especially in the Asia Pacific region. Based on Presidential Regulation Number 60 of 2023 concerning the National Strategy for Business and Human Rights as one of the legal bases for creating efforts to improve business and human rights,\u201d said the Dean of FH UNAIR<\/p>\n\n\n\n
